Easter and the Little Things

Last year we hosted Easter for twenty-something guests.  Due to the timing of Easter, most recent
events and home rennovations we felt it was best to have a  low key celebration. This is life and hopefully next year we can celebrate with more of our family. Although, the low key celebration is exactly what we needed at this time.

I worked until mid afternoon Saturday, and then spent the majority of Saturday with my Mother-In-Law.  We gathered some things for Easter dinner and caught up on life's happenings.

Sunday morning was spent going for a bike ride on a nearby prairie trail and just spending time together and in the moment. It was exactly what we needed.  Peaceful.

We celebrated Easter with G's Mom and Aunt.  It was nice to reconnect, as we dont see them as often as we would like.  Of course, lots of food, sweets and family reminiscing.

Easter has always been a reminder of life's blessings whether small or big.  To me its a reminder to slow down and focus on the little things and living life in the moment. Here are a few little things I am looking forward to the next couple of months.
  1. Evening bike rides with G
  2. Solo afternoon trips to Downtown Naperville with Baci in tow
  3. Maxi skirts and sundresses
  4. Weekday evenings spent in the backyard with an iced tea and the latest magazine
  5. Dinner on the BBQ more often than not and lots and lots of colorful grilled vegetables courtesy of our garden
  6. Our garden
  7. Yard sales
  8. Reconnecting with family and friends
  9. Organizing our house after the latest renovations are complete (I know I am strange)
  10. Starting accupuncture
